PLATTER, Okla.- 21-year-old Lela Rogers was arrested on Wednesday and charged with three counts of first degree rape of a victim under age 14.
Court records state Rogers had sexual intercourse with the child on three occasions in July.
A witness in the case (News12 is not identifying the witness to protect the victim) said she saw everything.
"I seen what was going on,” the witness said. “I literally walked in on it."
She said she knows Lela Rogers and hopes she gets life in prison.
"She's a sick person,” the witness said.
The Bryan County Sheriff's Office said investigators have collected several items of evidence and have written search warrants related to biological evidence which will be submitted to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
A neighbor who lives nearby said 12 years old is not old enough to make any kind of decisions related to sexual matters.
"They're not old enough to understand the repercussions of it,” the neighbor said. “They want to please the adults and they'll do what the adult wants them to do whether they're comfortable with it or not."
