A retired paramedic who denied a string of sex offences including child rape has been jailed for 16 years.

Arwel Roberts been sentenced to 10 years for the rape of the child, and was given two three-year sentences - to be served back to back - on top of that for offences against his other two victims.
Mold Crown Court heard that the affect on the 63-year-old's victims - one of whom was under the age of 13 - had been “profound”.
However, Roberts, of Queens road in Greenfield, Flintshire, showed no empathy for his victims, and when arrested denied anything sexual had taken place.
But the court heard that when assaulting one of his victims, he had asked them if what he was doing to them was “nice”.
Prosecuting barrister Sion ap Mihangel said a girl came forward and told how she had been sexually assaulted by the defendant some ten years ago.
The jury heard that an investigation revealed that two others had also been sexually assaulted at an earlier stage, one of them back in the 1980s.
Mr ap Mihangel said that all three made similar allegations, reports the Daily Post.
Roberts, who had been in the Royal Navy before joining the ambulance service, from which he retired in 1999 after suffering a spinal injury, was convicted last month by a jury who deliberated for five hours.
At his sentencing, he was told he would be ordered to register with police as a sex offender for life, and would be on licence well into his 80s.
Judge Gaynor Lloyd told him there was a “high risk” he would re-offend, and a risk to the community should be be released.
Henry Hills, defending, said his client appreciated that he would receive a significant sentence.
He was a man of previous good character, although it was conceded that was of limited value because of the offending which spanned two decades.
But Judge Lloyd said he continued to deny any wrong doing and saw himself as the victim.

Santana Cartwright was convicted of two counts of child rape in 2005.
His victims were a young girl he preyed on several times, and two boys — ages 7 and 9.
Now, he’s wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. “The law requires that they register and each jurisdiction is required to keep tabs on them, so if they don`t register and they move and they don`t tell us or they`re trying to hide and they`re playing the transient game, then we`re not able to track and monitor them like the law requires us to,” says Pierce County Det. Ed Troyer.”
Santana Cartwright is 30 years old, 5’6” and weighs 225 pounds.
He has a scar from a dog bite on his left hand.
