CHANDIGARH: An estranged daughter-in-law of a former Haryana MLA was kidnapped, gangraped and blackmailed by nine persons, including two tehsildars, at various places in the state last year
She filed a complaint at the all-women police station in Sonipat on Saturday. Police booked six property dealers and the tehsildars under various sections of IPC for rape, conspiracy, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.
The SHO and investigating officer in the case Parmila said the woman's statements had been recorded and her medical examination was also conducted. Among those booked are Kaithal tehsildar Vikas Singh, Panipat tehsildar Jaivender, property dealers Kamal Kumar, Pankaj, Rakesh Tyagi, Rajpal, Rajbir and Manoj.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that she had a property dispute with her in-laws after the death of her husband. She said in April last year, Kamal, Pankaj and Tyagi had taken her to the residence of Vikas for discussing the dispute and raped her there and video-recorded the act. She was then taken to several other places, including Gurugram. T
"We have started the investigation and examining the supportive evidence. Adequate action will follow," the investigating officer said. No arrests were made in the case till now.
However, Vikas denied the allegations, saying, "I've never met that woman. I have already informed the officials concerned in the police department."
"This is the second case against by this family. Earlier, her father-in-law had lodged a false case against me, which police cancelled later. They have a property dispute and are unnecessarily dragging us all," he added.
