NEW DELHI: A contract worker at an NDMC hospital in south Delhi's Moti Bagh was raped by a doctor and two lab technicians in two separate assaults that took place in the hospital premises.
The 29-year-old survivor has told police that the two technicians locked her up in a laboratory and took turns to rape her in the last week of October. They let her go after warning her against informing anyone about the assault.
The duo then introduced her to Afzal Ali Khan, 40, a doctor in the same hospital, on the pretext of getting her a permanent job.
The doctor too raped her in his cabin, she said in her police complaint. Two of the accused were arrested on Monday night. The hospital said Khan's contract had been terminated and the two technicians suspended.
'Made to pay money for hospital job'
Khan had been working on contract at the hospital for the past five months. "After investigations into the case are over, we will give out a final order on the three persons named by the woman," said Ranveer Singh, director of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) hospital.
The woman in her complaint told police that one day in late October she had finished her work and was getting ready to leave when the two technicians, one of whom was identified as Krishan Pal, 53, stopped her and took turns to rape her.
The survivor has also alleged that she had come in contact with a gardener, who too raped her in the first week of November.
Police said an FIR had been filed at the South Campus police station on the basis of the woman's complaint and teams had been formed to nab the accused. They said that the doctor and one of the technicians were arrested on the basis of her complaint on Monday night. They are also recording the statement of the woman.
Police said the woman has also alleged that she was made to shell out money to secure a job at the hospital. Police said they had launched a manhunt to nab the absconding technician and the gardener.
"Raids are being conducted at their probable hideouts," said Nupur Prasad, additional deputy commissioner of police (south).
