SERIAL rapist, paedophile and diagnosed sexual sadist Graham Loughlan Harrison smiled as he entered a Sydney court for sentencing on multiple charges of rape, child sex, indecency, kidnap and pornography charges
Harrison, 48, who has a decades long history of sex offences including soliciting underage girls for prostitution and hurting teenagers, is a self confessed “paraphiliac” or sadist, the court was told.
He is undergoing sentencing for 36 charges, some committed while under strict community supervision wearing a satellite tracking anklet.
Harrison — whose barrister Suse Kluss told Judge Jane Culver in Parramatta District Court her client was an intelligent man — has a history of using his charm to lure underage teen victims.
Dressed in a sports coat, shirt and tie and dark pants, Harrison sat in the dock as Judge Culver described his “wilful” and highly planned offending while free in the community on supervision orders.
Harrison also set up a brothel, Paradise Thai Massage in the Sydney suburb of Drummoyne, and breached supervision orders after going off his prescribed anti-libidinal medication.
“There’s no real spontaneity. There’s a degree of planning,” Judge Culver said of the offences.
She said the community had to be protected, and that after previous convictions and court orders Harrison had continued offending in a “flagrant” manner.
“Something that is looming large ... is the assessment of future risk,” she said.
“I’d be interested in whether or not this is one of those cases where history will reveal despite ... previous intensive monitoring, despite all that, nonetheless here we are again.”
Harrison, now in custody, is facing further prison time for six charges of rape following deprivation of the victim’s liberty, kidnap with intent to gain sexual gratification and threatening to use a weapon for sexual intercourse.
He has also pleaded guilty to inciting an act of indecency, producing child abuse material, assault during indecent act, demand with menaces person to induce a child for prostitution and inducing a woman to assist in sexual intercourse with a child.
The charges were committed between December 2012 and January 2013 in and around his Maroubra flat in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
Harrison has also pleaded guilty to 16 charges committed while he was on a strict community supervision order when he filmed women in sexual acts.
Other breaches of his supervision order include downloading pornography and knowingly permit prostitution at the Drummoyne Paradise Thai Massage.

Pittsburgh Police have arrested a man they say raped several women over the past few months.
Twenty-nine-year-old Justin Stover, of Beechview, was arrested Thursday around 5 a.m. on Brownsville Road in Knoxville.
Stover is facing multiple rape charges, described by sources as a sexual predator and a serial rapist.
A man who lives across from an alleyway in Knoxville where one of the rapes occurred says he’s relieved the suspect is in jail.
“It’s amazing, you know, because I’ve got grandkids who work at the McDonald’s, so they come home and they come down [past the alley],” he said, “so yeah, I’m glad they got the guy, that’s for sure.”
Investigators say the second rape occurred at a house in Beltzhoover. They say the suspect pushed through the boarded up window of an abandoned home and raped a woman inside.
James Burks, of Beltzhoover, owns the home next door to the abandoned home.
“He doesn’t deserve to be on the street,” he said.
Sources are convinced Stover may be responsible for several other rapes. According to the criminal complaint, he told the victims that he had raped other women on the North Side and in the Hill District.
Stover had previously been arrested for solicitation of prostitution.
He faces charges of rape, unlawful restraint, sex assault and indecent assault.

Pittsburgh Police Arrest Accused Serial Rapist November 24, 2016

BAY CITY, MI -- More than four decades ago, an 11-year-old girl was snatched off an Essexville street and sexually violated. The man who perpetrated the crime was on parole at the time, on a conviction of escaping prison.
Now, the 76-year-old prisoner has a chance to be free.
John S. Bergevin is scheduled to appear for a parole board hearing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Duane L. Waters Health Center inside the Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson. Bergevin is currently incarcerated within that facility. The Health Center houses prisoners whose medical needs cannot be met at other facilities.
Bay County Prosecutor Kurt C. Asbury is opposing Bergevin's efforts to rejoin society.
Bergevin's criminal history
Bergevin has an extensive criminal history, dating back to his juvenile years. According to prison records cited by Asbury in a letter he has written to the Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Board, Bergevin as a minor was "unmanageable in school and at home." He was committed to the Boys Vocational Schools -- a school for troubled youths -- in 1953 for breaking and entering. He returned to the school on several occasions.
In 1958, at age 18, he was convicted of breaking and entering and sentenced to two to 15 years in prison. Free on parole in 1962, he was again convicted of breaking and entering and received a sentence of eight to 15 years. In that instance, prosecutors contend he also raped a 22-year-old woman.
On parole in 1969, Bergevin was convicted of assault with intent to rape and sentenced to three to 10 years in prison. That incident involved a 17-year-old victim.
In 1972, Bergevin escaped prison. He was subsequently convicted of a resultant charge and sentenced to an additional year in prison.
Then, while on parole yet again, Bergevin on May 19, 1974, perpetrated the crimes for which he's currently incarcerated. According to Asbury's letter, he abducted an 11-year-old girl "in broad daylight while she was riding her bicycle."
Bergevin took the girl to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her.
"Defendant then returned this child to the area from where he abducted her," Asbury's letter continues. "Before leaving, he threatened that, 'if you ever tell anyone what happened, I will kill you or have my friends do it.'"
The girl ran home and told an aunt what had transpired. Police arrested Bergevin the next day.
While he was incarcerated, awaiting trial on the matter, Bergevin attempted to follow through on his promise to the young child by hiring his cellmate to kill her, Asubry wrote on his letter. That cellmate later reported the conversation to authorities.
Bergevin was convicted of kidnapping and indecent liberties with a child. His case was appealed on a sentencing issue and on Nov. 24, 1980, a Bay County Circuit Court judge resentenced him to life imprisonment on the kidnapping charge and 15 to 40 years on the indecency count.
"Clearly, parole has done nothing to deter defendant from committing criminal offenses in the past," Asbury's letter states. "On the contrary, defendant has utilized his prior paroles as opportunities to prey upon and sexually assault innocent young women and children.
"The fact that the defendant is a 76-year-old man and suffers from health issues is of little consequence given his 'serial rapist' persona, his violent propensities, his lack of mental health treatment, and the absence of any societal support system," the letter continues. "I must strongly object to the release of this predator to society. The only place for defendant is prison."
Cindy A. Howell, the prosecutor's office's Victim Rights Coordinator, said she is planning to attend Bergevin's hearing and speak out against the board granting him parole. She added she is having difficulty locating Bergevin's victims and she does not know if they've received word of his pending hearing.
Howell encourages any victims of Bergevin to contact her at 989-895-4243.

'Serial rapist' imprisoned for decades gets parole hearing Cole WatermanNovember 28, 2016

WILLINGBORO — The suspect who was wanted for the rape of a woman in Camden was arrested Friday night hours after he was publicly identified by authorities.
Andre D. Wesley, 29, of Willingboro, a convicted felon with a history of sex crimes, was arrested at his home, Camden County police said.
Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson told 6 ABC Action News the arrest came after a “tense standoff” with Wesley, who was armed with a butcher knife at his Elmwood Court home. Thomson said Wesley wanted police to shoot him, but police subdued him with a taser.
Wesley was sentenced to five years in prison in 2007 for endangering the welfare of a child. He had initially been charged in that case with raping a teenager, New Jersey court records show.
In 2011 he was was sentenced to another five years with two years of parole ineligibility for leading police on a high-speed chase. He also served short stints in prison for a 2005 weapons charge stemming from an assault, and a 2004 theft charge.
The depravity and disregard for human life demonstrated by this violent repeat offender made him extremely dangerous,” Thompson said Saturday in a statement, calling the suspect a “deranged and sick sociopath.”
“Our detectives worked day and night, dedicating themselves to ensuring his capture, and tonight we can say that the community is safer with him in custody, behind bars,” he said.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Willingboro Police Department helped arrest Wesley, the county chief said.
Wesley was identified Friday by police as the suspect in Sunday’s sexual assault in Camden. Days earlier, police had released a composite sketch and video of the white van believed to have been used in the attack.
Police said a woman got into the van at the intersection of Broadway and Pine Street. Wesley then drove her behind a vacant building on 3rd Street at Spruce Street.
Thomson said Wesley was a five-time convicted felon, a registered sex offender and the suspect in other South Jersey rapes, according to the 6 ABC report.
Wesley is charged with attempted murder, three counts of aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, robbery, and three counts of aggravated assault with a weapon. He was being held at Camden County jail with bail set at $2 million.

PATHUM THANI — Police on Thursday released a sketch of a man they want to question over the kidnapping and rape of several women in Rangsit and nearby areas.

The sketch was released after a woman became the suspect’s latest kidnap and rape attempt victim on Chiang Rak Road near Thammasat University's Rangsit campus in Pathum Thani on Nov 16. She lodged a complaint at Khlong Luang police station and gave details about her attacker.

Police said the man pretended to seek help for directions to an apartment and had asked his victims to type information into a GPS device. But he would then drag them into his car. He targeted women who walked alone on the road at night. The latest victim told police the man beat her and took her to a roadside bush, but she fought back and ran away.

Several other women have reported similar attacks, leading to female students staying at dormitaries in the area to become scared.

Khlong Luang police said they are trying to identify the suspect’s vehicle and are checking camera footage on different roads where the attacks had taken place.

Pathum Thani police hunt serial rapist 24 Nov 2016 PONGPAT WONGYALA

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Former NFL star Darren Sharper was sentenced Tuesday a 20-year prison term, ending a tour of shame and punishment in the courthouse where he first admitted drugging and raping women in four states.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor denounced Sharper's "horrible conduct" and "disgraceful abuse of trust" during the hearing that concluded prosecutions that unmasked the popular former all-pro safety and Super Bowl champ as a serial rapist.
Under the terms of a plea deal negotiated with prosecutors in four states, Sharper will be eligible for parole in about eight years because California law requires he serve half his sentence and he has already been behind bars more than two years since his arrest.
But he will probably serve more time if an appeals court upholds an 18-year prison sentence handed down by a New Orleans federal judge who rejected the deal as too lenient. Sharper has appealed that harsher sentence.
Sharper, 41, sat quietly in court in orange jail scrubs and never addressed the court or two emotional victims who spoke about evenings that began innocently enough partying with friends turned into nightmares they can no longer escape after he secretly slipped drugs in their shot glasses and insisted they drink.
Both women blacked out and later awoke to the groggy reality that something terribly wrong had occurred that they couldn't immediately comprehend in their drug-induced stupor.
"I started vomiting, my head was pounding and I had trouble seeing clearly," said one victim, who said her rape on Jan. 15, 2014 was "the worst night of my life."
The woman, identified only as Jane Doe 2, teared up before she even addressed the court and dabbed at her nose with a tissue throughout. She said her surfing career spiraled downward afterward, she lost her self-confidence, lives in fear and at one point considered suicide.
"The only good thing about this situation is that this disgusting low-life human will be sent to prison for many years and is likely he will never be able to do to this to another woman again," she said. "I hope this scumbag will now feel as worthless as he has made me feel."
Sharper, 41, was working as an NFL network analyst when women in several cities began reporting how nights of partying with their girlfriends and Sharper ended with them waking up in his hotel room confused and discovering they had been sexually assaulted.
Sharper's arrest came as the NFL was dealing with off-field problems with players accused of crimes ranging from spousal abuse to murder.
The second woman, identified as Jane Doe 4, was with a friend when they were drugged by Sharper in his hotel room in 2013, hours after they met at a Sports Illustrated 50th anniversary party.
She woke up on a bed with her clothes on, blood coming out of her nose and did now know where she was. She said her friend had been sexually assaulted, and both fled fearing for their lives.
"It's one thing to be a victim, but to be the victim that got 'lucky' in some eyes is not easy to live with," Jane Doe 4 said. "When I think back to that night I wonder what he could have done to me. That's not lucky. It's haunting."
The Associated Press does not generally name people who are victims of sex crimes.
Sharper retired from the league in 2011 after a 14-year career with the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings and, finally, in New Orleans with the Saints, where he won a Super Bowl.
Lawyers for Sharper had vigorously disputed the charges before he abruptly gave up his defense in March 2015 on the eve of a preliminary hearing to decide if the Los Angeles case would go to trial.
From the Los Angeles courtroom, Sharper appeared by video-conferencing and pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting one woman and trying to attack another in suburban Phoenix in 2013.
An hour later, he pleaded no contest to drugging and raping two women he picked up at a West Hollywood bar on two occasions in late 2013 and early 2014.
The next day, he pleaded guilty via video to a reduced felony attempted sex assault charge for a Las Vegas case.
He later pleaded guilty in Louisiana to federal charges of drugging women so he could rape them and state charges to three counts of rape.
At Sharper's sentencing in Louisiana federal court, he told the judge he wanted to "apologize a thousand times."
On Tuesday in the Los Angeles courtroom, Sharper had nothing to say besides providing simple, short answers to routine legal sentencing questions posed by the judge.

JOHANNESBURG, Nov 29 (BERNAMA-NNN-SABC) -- The Johannesburg High Court has sentenced serial rapist Lucky Simelane who had been terrorising women in the East Rand area near here for four years to 384 years imprisonment.

The 33-year-old Simelane began his raping spree in 2010 until 2014. His victims, aged between 14 and 49 years, were raped in different areas including Alberton, Thokoza and Palm Ridge.

The serial rapist has been sentenced to more than 380 years in prison for several counts of rape with aggravating circumstances, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances and housebreaking with intent to rob.

He was also found guilty of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

In handing down the sentence, Judge John Horn said for over a period of approximately four years, Simelane terrorized the inhabitants on the East Rand by kidnapping some of the female victims and brutally raping them.

The assaults included striking the victims with a firearm or with his bare hands, leaving them battered, bleeding and bruised.

The court said Simelane posed a real threat to society and the long period of incarceration should serve to safeguard the community against his conduct.

National Prosecuting Authorities (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Louw welcomed the sentence.

"We believe that the sentence could not have come at a perfect time whereas state institutions we are busy advocating against violence against women and children.

"We believe it is sentencing like this which will encourage us as state institutions to do more. It also shows that we are in the right direction of reducing the scourge of violence against women and children through sentences like this. We believe that violent crimes will be reduced, which is our main aim."

Meanwhile, some of the victims said they would continue to seek counselling and hopefully, begin to heal, now that the rapist has been given a heavy sentence behind bars.

South African Court Sentences Serial Rapist To 384 Years Imprisonment Nov 29 2016

Nelspruit - A serial rapist who pleaded guilty to raping three young women and blamed liquor for his crimes, has been sentenced to 22 years in jail by the Nelspruit High Court.
Passing sentence on Wednesday, Judge JJ Strydom described Nkosinathi Matsane’s crimes as the acts of a serial rapist.
“The accused and his companion had no regard to the rights and dignity of the women they raped. Rape is the most atrocious crime. It is the invasion of the most private part of a woman. It is degrading, humiliating, violent and also destroys their joy for the rest of their lives,” he said.
He supported the State’s argument that Matsane did not deserve leniency because alcohol played a role in the offences.
If he had not changed his plea to guilty, he would have faced a minimum sentence of life imprisonment for each count of rape.
Long negative impact
Strydom said the court believed he was remorseful as he had asked for forgiveness both from the court and the victims.

Matsane, 37, from Masoi in Mpumalanga, was arrested in 2015 on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, and three counts of rape.
He committed the first rape in June 2009, the second in October 2013, and the third in January 2014.
“I am remorseful of what I have done and I ask the court and the victims for forgiveness," he said in a plea statement his lawyer Melanie Erasmus read to the court.
Matsane said during one of the rapes he and a companion, who was still at large, kidnapped a woman at a tavern in a village in Masoi at night.
“After we took her to the bush, my friend dragged her to a ditch where he raped her. When he finished I also took a turn and raped her,” he said.

Prosecutor Eric Sihlangu said the offences were serious and would impact negatively on the victims for a long time. He asked the court to impose a harsh sentence.
He said Matsane failed to take the court into his confidence and explain what provoked the eleventh-hour change of heart to plead guilty.
“Many offenders regret their conduct afterward, but that does not make their plea of guilt genuine,” Sihlangu said.
