SERIAL RAPISTS 16

While the South Africa Police Service (SAPS) expressed that SA sexual offenders are feeling the effects of the law, they revealed that a man with 870 crimes of rape, exploitation, sexual assault and child pornography was recently, sentenced to 32 life terms and 170 years in prison.
His name is Warren Troy Knoop. And, according to SAPS, the lengthy sentence 40-years-old Knoop bagged is just one of the many that have been recently handed to SA sexual offenders

For instance, the Police Service highlighted that one 28-year-old Lonwabo Solontsi who raped 40 females between the ages of 16 and 46 years in four different provinces, is presently, serving a life sentence for the crimes. Solontsi is likely to bag more punishment. He’ll be appearing before the Grahamstown High Court on 24 February 2017 to face additional charges.

Similarly, SAPS divulged that one 36-year-old Dawie de Villiers, a model boss from Kempton Park will soon be slapped with a hefty sentence. SAPS said De Villiers sexually exploited and defrauded young girls in the modelling industry. He was found guilty of 25 charges of sexual-related crimes. And, his sentencing will come up on 8 March 2017.

That’s not all, another serial rapist is set to face the law’s wrath. The 45-year-old man was arrested in the Northern Cape after months of intensive investigations. He was subsequently, charged with several counts of rape and his case has been postponed to 6 March 2017, SAPS related.

Generally, SAPS divulged that a total of 346 life sentences for rape and sexual-related offences have already been secured in this financial year. “The accused were convicted by various courts in the country after they were found guilty of these offences. “The numerous arrests and successful prosecutions are the outcome of the dedication and commitment of the SAPS members attached to the 176 Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Units across the country. “(It) is indeed a confirmation that the South African Police Service remains dedicated to bringing to justice those responsible for offences committed against women and children,” stated the police service. BuzzSouthAfrica was told that SAPS has made significant impact in crushing sexual crimes since the police service re-established the FCS Units in June 2010.

Afterwards, SAPS acknowledged that the sexual exploitation of children online is still a matter of concern. As such, the police service established the Serial and Electronic Crimes Investigation (SECI) Unit within the FSC to concentrate on fighting the online sexual exploitation. In line with that, SAPS revealed that it recently arrested a couple that sold pornographic material of their own 14-year-old daughter. “The SECI unit received information from the United States Homeland Security after they had arrested a man in October 2016 in North Carolina for being in possession of pornographic material of the young South African girl. “(Thereafter), the couple and the child were traced to Vredenburg in the Western Cape. “Following months of investigation, the couple was arrested and they are currently in police custody facing 10 charges including rape, sexual assault, manufacturing, possession and distribution of pornographic material and sexual exploitation of a child.

Commenting, the Acting National Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane reiterated that SAPS is committed to protecting women, children and vulnerable groups. Phahlane promised that he and his guys will continued to work hard towards bringing every SA sexual offender before the courts. He said: “we are appreciative of the dedication of our detectives and the sterling efforts of the prosecuting authority in ensuring convictions in court.” With that, he urged community members to be vigilant and report any suspicious or criminal activities to the police. “You can report crime to your nearest police station or to Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” added the Lieutenant General.

Mooketsi Chevron Bambiso (31) was sentenced to a double-life sentence for the rape of a 43-year-old mentally-ill woman.

The sentences will run concurrently.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) welcomes the rape sentencing that was handed down to this Warrenton man in the Hartswater Regional Court on.

According to Capt. Sergio Kock, the incident dates back to 6 April 2008 at about 15:45, when the suspect dragged the victim into the veld and raped her at knifepoint.

The victim had reportedly been on her way home when she was accosted by the accused.

“The police searched for the accused and traced him by means of his DNA and the modus operandi he utilised.

“Bambiso was traced to prison, where he was serving a 15-year sentence for two other separate rape cases he also committed between 2007 and 2009,” added Kock.

The rape of the mentally-ill victim is the third rape he has committed. The accused was classified as a serial rapist by the Regional Court in Harts-water.”

The Frances Baard SAPS cluster commander, Maj.Gen. Jean Abrahams, lauded Det.Sgt Tanya Fourie of the Hartswater Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for a job well done.

“It is with pride that we see our members working extremely hard to remove criminals from our streets.

“The convictions result in justice for the victims concerned and the community feels safer when the perpetrators are incarcerated.

“It also sends out a stern message that when you do crime, you will do the time.”

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A former gynecologist will stand trial in Franklin County Court starting Monday on more than two dozen criminal counts alleging he sexually assaulted three women and a teenage girl.
Sohael M. Raschid, 60, worked as an OB-GYN in the Chambersburg area until his 2015 arrest and the subsequent suspension of his medical license.
He is headed to trial separately in a case involving a potential fifth victim.
The youngest person in the case is a girl who told her mother that she was raped by Raschid in his home when she was 13.
She testified during a preliminary hearing that she became disoriented after Raschid provided her with a drink, saying she awoke and found herself naked with Raschid having sex with her.
The girl previously testified that Raschid took pictures of her during sex.
Toxicology tests were performed on three victims. Drugs found in the blood system of one woman included the prescription sleep aid Ambien, while another showed a combination of a stimulant, an anti-nausea drug and an antihistamine.
The prosecution and defense will select jurors from a pool of 100 people.
Raschid worked at Chambersburg’s Phoenix Wellness and specialized in women’s health, hormone therapy and weight loss before his arrest. He had medical-staff privileges at Chambersburg Hospital.

  • A serial rapist with a "dreadful record of sexual offending" against girls and young women in Rochdale is starting another lengthy jail sentence.
Married father-of-four Mohammed Miah, was jailed for 16 years with an extended licence of four years for the rape of a "vulnerable" 16-year-old girl on a North Wales beach in 2007.
Sentencing the 41-year-old, Judge John Potter told him: "You have a dreadful record of sexual offending against children and young women."
Friday's sentencing will run concurrently to the 23-years he is already serving, as well as serving an extended licence period of eight years, after being convicted in two separate trials of raping two teenage girls and a 22-year-old woman, along with the attempted abduction of a 15-year-old girl walking home from school, on various dates between 2005 and 2010.
Miah's latest sentencing concerned an "extremely vulnerable" victim - who had a chaotic lifestyle after she was effectively abandoned by her parents in her early teens - and had only met him day before and knew him only as "Ali".
After driving his victim from Rochdale in the evening and buying her alcohol, Miah demanded that she have sex with him otherwise he would leave her on the beach.
She told him tearfully to stop halfway through sex but the defendant continued.
The victim reported the incident to the police at the time, but no match was found to Miah on the DNA database.
When traced and interviewed as part of GMP's Operation Doublet investigation - launched in the wake of the Rochdale grooming scandal - Miah denied the offence.
At an earlier trial the takeaway cook was also charged with offences against three other complainants as part of the same police operation, and again pleaded not guilty.
One "vulnerable" victim, aged 14 or 15 at the time in 2005, knew Miah as "Ali" and was repeatedly violently raped by Miah after he bought her vodka.
He was also found guilty of the attempted abduction of a 15-year-old girl when he approached her in the street in his car in 2009 and falsely claimed that her mother had told him to pick her up.
She declined the request and the incident was reported to police but days later he followed her again on the way home from school and told her: "Come to my boot I've got some vodka, hair straighteners and fags.
"If you get in my car you can have them."
During the trial the court heard Miah had previous sexual convictions and had already been jailed for 10 months in July 2014 for sexual assault, and received a community order in November 2012 for two offences of sexual activity with a child.
Miah, formerly of Bellshill Crescent, Rochdale, was jailed alongside four other men at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday who were also arrested as part of Operation Doublet over offences against teenage girls.
The convictions relate to offences committed between 2004 and 2008 against three victims who were aged between 14 and 16 at the time of the abuse.

    • Ashafaq Yousaf, 30, of Stanley Street, Rochdale was jailed for 19 years for four counts of rape.
    • Mohammed Sadeer, 28, of Brimrod Lane, Rochdale received a 12-year sentence for attempted rape.
    • Joshim Miah, 32, of Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, received a seven-year sentence for rape.
    • Ittefaq Yousaf, 26, of Stanley Street, Rochdale, was found guilty of one count of sexual assault, one count of causing/inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, and possession of indecent images. He was been sentenced to 20 months in prison.
Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Daniels, the Senior Investigating Officer for Operation Doublet, said: “This was an extremely complex case and I want to thank the victims for the immense bravery they have shown; we could not have arrived at this point without their courage and support.
"The process can be emotionally demanding and traumatic for the victims and we do not underestimate this...
"Ultimately, these outcomes belong to the victims, who have suffered truly awful ordeals and I cannot speak highly enough of the courage and bravery shown in coming forward and supporting the investigation.”

Serial rapist starts another jail sentence for attack on 'vulnerable' girl, 16, on beach 18 February 2017

A man who has received six jail sentences for rape and sexual assault over the last 25 years will remain on bail pending sentence for sexually assaulting a woman on the DART.

Paul Moore (51) assaulted the victim, an au pair, in 2014 as she was travelling home from college. Gardaí examined CCTV footage of the incident but Moore was not recognised on the video until two years later.
In the meantime, he sexually assaulted two women in separate incidents in the city centre after stopping them in the street and asking them for a cigarette. In 2015, he was jailed for 15 months for these attacks.
Probation service warned serial rapist Paul Moore would strike again FOUR years agoread it here.
In that case, Judge Martin Nolan noted Moore “has a predisposition to violence towards women which manifests as rape and sexual assault”.
His other offences include raping a musician in 2001, for which he received ten years and raping another woman in 1995, for which he received seven years.
Moore of Mountjoy Square, Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to sexually assaulting the woman on the southside DART on August 28, 2014.
Moore's defence counsel, Breffni Gordon BL, said he had spent a significant portion of his life in prison. Counsel said there were conflicting opinions on what caused Moore to commit these crimes. One psychiatric report blamed a head injury he received in 1982 while another blamed an “organic personality disorder.”

Today, Mr Gordon asked the court to hear from Moore's case officer in the Probation Service to see if Moore could “deal with his problems” without going to prison.
Judge Melanie Greally said Moore's inability to desist from offending, no matter what punishment was imposed, was a matter of real concern to the court.
She adjourned sentencing until Monday when she will hear from the case officer and remanded Moore on continuing bail. The judge said any sentence would have to “maximise the ability of the services to supervise Moore”.

Garda Peter Brown told James Dwyer BL, prosecuting, that Moore sat near the young woman on the DART and started making small talk. He then moved to the seat beside her and began commenting on her clothes.
Moore had a toy turtle in his hand which he said he found on the ground. He said he was looking for a child to give it to.
He told her, “you probably think I'm crazy” and asked why she was laughing even though she wasn't. The woman tried to ignore the man but he kept talking to her. He began to touch her breasts and then pulled at her trousers. He stopped when another passenger sat near them.

The woman got off the DART before her stop because she didn't want Moore to know where she lived.
Garda Brown circulated CCTV of the incident but no one recognised Moore. However, when he did so again in 2016, Moore was recognised and arrested. He accepted it was him on the CCTV but said he could not remember the incident.
Moore's defence counsel said he lived a very isolated life and had been disowned by his family. He works one day a week in a charity shop.

A former Wigan factory worker has been jailed for 15 years after being convicted of vile historic rape and sex offences.

As Eric Marsden was put behind bars for 14 years with an extended licence of 12 months, friends and relatives of the two victims shouted out, “See you scumbag” and “Have a nice life.”
Judge Elizabeth Nicholls told the 66-year-old that he is regarded as “a prisoner of particular concern” and consequently will have to serve at least two thirds of the custodial term and possibly all of it if the Parole Board still consider he is a danger.
Marsden, of Hunter Road, Marsh Green, had been convicted of three rape offences and 10 of indecent assault after a trial.
Judge Nicholls said that his victims had been aged between seven and 13.
“I have absolutely no doubt that you understood what you were doing was inappropriate, wrong and should not have happened.
“I also have no doubt that these offences have had, and will continue to have, a profound affect on your victims.”
She said that they both have problems but neither tried to lay the blame at his door.
Marsden, who worked for 30 years on the night shift at the Heinz factory, denied all the allegations but was convicted of three offences of rape and five indecent assault on one girl and five indecent assaults on the other victim. A Liverpool Crown Court jury - of whom seven returned for the sentencing - heard that the rape victim had been aged between 10 and 12.
The offences came to light after the indecent assault victim went to the police in 2015 and complained about his behaviour.
David Potter, defending, said that Marsden is a “quiet, socially isolated man, not worldly wise” and until staying in Liverpool for the trial had never used a cash machine and had not known how to use a phone card in jail.
“He presents today as a thoroughly dishevelled man.
“He cannot fathom how he will make his way through a lengthy sentence.”
Mr Potter said that Marsden, who showed no emotion during the hearing, is diabetic and suffers from arthritis and short term memory problems now beginning to afflict him will be an extra burden for him in prison.
