AGRA: A woman was gang-raped and murdered at a remote village in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh on late Monday night.
The 31-year-old victim was alone at her home, while her four children were out to attend jagran of a deity. Her husband who is a labourer was in Hathras. The incident took place at Nagla Chandrabhan village at around 10pm. The clothes of the victim were found torn, while her body was semi-naked.
According to victim's seven-year-old son, who was returning home after jagran, "I saw three men coming out of our home. One of them was our neighbor Dharamveer. When I entered our home, I saw my mother lying dead, with pillow on her face and dupatta around her neck."
"I ran back to by siblings and told them about mother's condition," he said.
The victim's husband who returned home on Tuesday morning said, "My wife was gang-raped and murdered with the use of pillow."
According to additional superintendent of police and circle officer of Etmadpur Shlok Kumar, "We have sent the body for post-mortem and only after the autopsy report, we can confirm whether the victim was raped before been murdered."
"Our team is searching the whereabouts of the accused who are on run. An FIR has been lodged under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. Once the rape accusation is proved in the post-mortem report, we will add further sections in it," he said.
