Porn Addicted Rapists 61

Pornography depicting rape must be banned, campaigners said last night, after a “barbaric” teenager obsessed with sexually violent images raped and bludgeoned his victim on his 17th birthday, leaving her for dead.

Charlie Pearce was caught on CCTV first running towards the victim then away from the scene with part of a paving slab tucked under his arm.
His parents turned him in after they recognised him following a public appeal by police.
A judge yesterday ordered that Pearce, who is still a juvenile, be named following his conviction for attempted murder.
He had already pleaded to two counts of raping her and causing grievous bodily harm with intent as she walked home at night through Victoria Park, in Leicester, on July 3.
Pearce’s victim, who is in her 20s, told the court in a statement: “Before this horrific incident I was an independent young woman. Last July I woke up from a coma not knowing what I had been through.
“I have to live with the violent injuries as well as the physical and psychological impact they have had on me and will continue to have on me.”
She added: “My traumatic head injuries mean that my hair is unlikely to grow again in the places where my skull was fractured. I am reminded of these physical injuries – and others – on a daily basis.
“I don’t know what will happen and how this will affect my academic future and the rest of my life. I cannot be compensated for what has happened to me.
Campaigners said the case showed it was time for society to grapple with the issue of violent pornography and the way it affected the behaviour of those who used it.
Sarah Green, co-director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition, said: "This case is extremely disturbing and the age of the offender should alarm us all. The evidence about his searches for online porn before the attack tell us that we urgently need public discussion about the contents of contemporary online pornography, its accessibility and what is known about the way it influences those who use it.”
In 2013 the then prime minister David Cameron promised to ban pornography involving simulated rape and said that online videos would be subject to the same rules as those sold in sex shops.
It is currently a criminal offence in England and Wales to possess pornographic material which is “grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise obscene” and explicitly and realistically depicts life threatening and serious injury.
However that allows for a possible loophole for pornographic material that is obviously scripted and not realistic and campaigners say the vast majority of images depicting rape are lawful to possess.
Jurors took just over three hours to convict Pearce after hearing how he had searched for internet videos depicting the rape of “helpless” women in the weeks leading up to the attack.
A three-day trial at Leicester Crown Court was told Peace left his victim for dead in undergrowth in the park, and she was only found when a passing cyclist spotted a pool of blood and went to investigate.
The jury was told the youth was “fixated” on violent and controlling sex attacks - which he researched on the internet in the days and weeks before carrying out the “unspeakable” assault.
Security cameras at a property nearby showed Peace calmly stepping into a driveway to avoid a police patrol answering a 999 call from witnesses, who heard "thudding" noises as the woman was attacked at about 11.35pm on July 3.
He left his victim in a medically-induced coma for two weeks, after she suffered life-threatening skull fractures and bleeding on the brain.
Pearce, who had been drinking in a pub before the attack, was linked to the attack by "one-in-a-billion" DNA matches after his family contacted the police following a media appeal.
Gordon Aspden, prosecuting, said in his closing speech yesterday that the teenager intended to kill the woman.
He said: “He was there loitering, he was looking for someone to attack. He has a fixation with violent rape.
“You’ve seen the internet searches; it’s a disturbing fixation manifested in his interest to look at warped pornography and violent assault of helpless young women.
“An attack of this type had been festering in the back of his mind. He went to attack that woman armed with that weapon.”
Mr Aspden added: “He was ruthless. This dangerous young man, for his own selfish reasons, carried out an attack of desolating wickedness.
“Had he wanted to merely incapacitate and subdue her for sexual purposes, he could have done that.”
A family friend of Pearce’s parents, Louise Davies, a renowned artist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers based in London, said: "This has been extremely upsetting for everyone. Very upsetting, but I really don't want to talk about it further. I really can’t."
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Widdowson, who led the investigation, praised the victim, saying: "She has shown a level of courage and fortitude that at times has left me and the many officers who worked on this investigation speechless."
Pearce denied being the attacker following his arrest and did not give evidence in court.

A “perverted” grandfather discussed sexual fantasies involving children in an online chat room and was caught with more than 100 indecent images on his laptop.
Ronald Lunn, 68, told police he loved children and was described by his counsel as a family man but he admitted making and distributing dozens of images of child abuse.
Sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Stephen Hopkins QC described his behaviour as “sickening”.
The court heard the offending occurred over a period of four years.
Gareth James, prosecuting, said officers carried out a search warrant at the defendant’s home in Caldicot on October 16 following intelligence from the Gwent Police Online Investigation Team.
Lunn was at home with his wife and pointed police to the laptop in his study, saying: “On the computer.”
He said: “I’m disgusted by it but I just couldn’t help it. I’m totally ashamed of myself.
Investigators found 119 still images on his computer, including six of the most serious Category A, 10 at Category B, and 103 at Category C.
They also found prohibited computer-generated images of children and extreme pornography involving a dog.
Prosecutors said most of the images involved girls aged between 10 and 12 with one showing a child as young as three.
The court heard Lunn used chat rooms to discuss fantasies, for role play, and to share images. He called himself Foxy, or Hazel if he was pretending to be a girl.
Judge Hopkins described the content shared between users as “filth”.
Prosecutors said he discussed his desire to rape a girl and make her cry and also to rape a girl in front of her parents.
Lunn was arrested and interviewed at Newport Police Station, where he stated he started looking at pornography to see if it would help with sexual dysfunction.
Mr James said the defendant was “disarmingly frank” in his police interview and told officers his preference was for girls aged 11, 12 and 13.
He admitted his fantasy was to rape a child but stated he would never do that because he “loved children”.
The defendant accepted he told someone in a chat room he once raped a 12-year-old girl on holiday but stated that was not true.
Lunn, from The Cwtch in Penhow, Caldicot, admitted three counts of making and three counts of distributing indecent images of children.
He also admitted possessing a prohibited image and possessing extreme pornography.
The defendant was judged by the Probation Service to present a medium risk of harm to children.
Gareth Williams, defending, said his client – who is married with grandchildren – had no previous convictions.
He described Lunn as a hard-working family man who had never been in trouble.
Mr Williams added: “There is no doubt he regrets what he has done and understands the shame he has brought on his family.”
He told the court custody had been a “huge shock” for the pensioner and asked the judge to consider an alternative to an immediate prison sentence.
In his sentencing remarks Judge Hopkins referred to the defendant’s “perverted thoughts”, “appalling chat” and “disgusting habit”.
He also noted Lunn talked in “nauseating detail” about his sexual fantasies involving children.
The judge told him: “You took your fantasy to a deviant and, in my judgement, very worrying level.”
He added: “It should not be forgotten that every indecent image of a child is a picture of a victim.
“The psychological and sometimes physical damage caused to such young victims is incalculable.
You have helped, by your deviant obsession, to fuel the trade in such images.”
Lunn was jailed for 20 months and the judge imposed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
A spokesman for NSPCC Cymru said: “Offenders like Lunn who download this despicable material directly contribute to the demand for it to be created and distributed.
He said he hoped the defendant would receive treatment to lessen any risk of further offending on his release.

A man who tried to persuade a 'father' to sexually abuse his four-month-old DAUGHTER so he could watch over the internet has been jailed.
'Depraved' Nathan Potter, 31, had been commenting on an internet chat room when an undercover police officer came across his comments.
He joined in the conversation, after becoming concerned, in August last year and said he was the father of a four-month-old girl - who did not really exist.
During subsequent chats, Potter tried to persuade him to remove the baby's nappy and sexually abuse her.
As a result, Potter was traced and arrested, and on his computer officers found more than 270 indecent images of children across all three categories of seriousness.
There were 226 in category A, showing children being subjected to penetrative sex acts, 104 in category B of children involved in non-penetrative sex acts, and 44 in category C of children in naked or indecent poses.
Potter, of Nuneaton, Warks, pleaded guilty to attempting to encourage or incite the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 13.
He also admitted three charges of possessing indecent images of children, and was jailed for 16 months at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for an indefinite period, but for a minimum of ten years, and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order until further notice.
Sentencing Potter, Judge Andrew Lockhart QC said: "I find myself absolutely unable to suspend the sentence.
"You were a man involved in an internet conversation, fully intending that a four-month-old child would be touched.
"You are a man of 31 years of age, of good character, but between 2011 and 2016 you were a regular accessor of category A, B and C images of children, and you had a very large number of such images.
"There were a number of images which had been deleted, but they were depraved images that perpetrate the abuse of the children involved.
"Much more disturbingly, the analysis of your computer revealed the chat logs in which you engaged with a person you thought was a father who was abusing a four-month-old baby - and you did not just engage once, but on a number of occasions.
"You sought to encourage that person, who was an undercover police officer, to abuse that child in appalling ways.
"There was no harm because there was no-one to be harmed, happily.
"But that offending is gravely aggravated by your possession of those indecent images in which the children were very young and there was discernible pain and distress."

Colin Charvill, defending, conceded that Potter's attempt to encourage abuse of a baby "is depraved, thoroughly."
He pointed out that of the indecent images, all but 12 were in the 'inaccessible space' on Potter's computer.
He said: "He says it came as some relief when he was arrested and he was forced to address his behaviour.
"He is remorseful, and he is adamant that this type of behaviour is not going to be repeated."
Mr Charvill said that at the time Potter's relationship with his family had broken down.
He added: "He felt he had nothing going for him, but now he has turned the corner and feels he has made significant progress.
"He is reconciled with his family, and has found himself employment."
Asking the judge to pass a suspended sentence, he said Potter had been receiving counselling and attending courses to address his behaviour.

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — A Pearl River husband and wife duo were indicted on charges that include child pornography and indecent behavior with a juvenile, officials said.

David Allen Hammond Jr., 39, was indicted on first-degree rape, sexual battery of a victim younger than 13, 500 counts of production of pornography involving juveniles and 300 counts of pornography involving juveniles younger than 13.

The 22nd Judicial District Court of Washington-St. Tammany parishes said in a news release Monday that Melissa Mary Hammond, David Hammond's wife, was also indicted on indecent behavior with a juvenile victim under 13, indecent behavior with a juvenile and seven counts of production of pornography involving juveniles.

The couple were also charged with obstruction of justice, officials said.

Investigators said the rape in the case was reported between Nov. 20, 2015, and Dec. 9, 2016. The rape was reported at the same time the other charges occurred.

Officials said most of the charges against the couple involve the same victim.

Additional details were not released about the investigation.

A Silverton man is being held without bail after he was arrested on rape and child pornography charges.
Benjamin Franklin Silverman, 59, is facing three counts of first-degree rape and three counts of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.
Silverman is accused of raping a girl under the age of 16 from 2008 to 2010. According to court records, the girl was known to him.
He is also accused of forcing the same girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct for a visual recording.
Following his arrest by Silverton police, Silverman was taken to Marion County jail. He was ordered to have no contact with his victim.
At his arraignment on Monday, Marion County Judge Rafael Caso ordered that Silverman be held without bail.
First-degree rape and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct are both Measure 11 offenses requiring mandatory minimum prison sentences.
A first-degree rape conviction carries a minimum sentence of eight years and four months, and a display of sexually explicit conduct requires a sentence of at least five years and 10 months in prison.
Silverman's next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30 at 8:30 a.m.

A former Tulsa Zoo train conductor will serve 30 years in prison after pleading guilty in Osage County to sexually abusing a girl younger than 12 and two other charges related to his use of child pornography.
Kim Michael Bowman, 65, entered pleas Nov. 16 to one count each of child sexual abuse against a person under 12, aggravated possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
He was accused of sexually abusing a girl age 8 or 9 and of having more than 100 pornographic images of children on electronic devices.
Osage County Judge Stuart Tate imposed 30-year sentences for the abuse and possession counts, as well as 20 years in prison for the distribution charge in accordance with a plea agreement. The sentences will be served concurrently, according to court minutes.
A plea-of-guilty form completed by Bowman’s attorney states that he assaulted the girl in 2016 and downloaded child pornography to his computer at his Osage County residence, which is in the Tulsa city limits.
Tulsa police arrested Bowman Dec. 8, and he was charged in Osage County District Court five days later.
Bowman had been a part-time employee at the Tulsa Zoo since March 2015 and was suspended following his arrest. A spokeswoman said at the time that he passed the required background checks, and court records do not show he had previous felony convictions.
Authorities have said the girl victimized in the case was someone Bowman knew outside of his employment at the zoo.

I fatti risalgono a tre anni fa.

Saying a convicted man will continue to sexually abuse children if he is ever let out of prison, prosecutors on the North Shore are asking a judge to reconsider the sentence he imposed on a Slidell man who pleaded guilty this week to numerous child sex charges.
William Harvey Watson, 24, pleaded guilty Monday (Nov. 27) to sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13, as well as 250 counts of possession of child pornography and 27 counts of production of child pornography involving victims under 13.
Judge Reginald Badeaux, of the 22nd Judicial District, sentenced Watson to 30 years on the sexual battery charge and 25 years in prison on each of the other charges. The sentences are to be served at the same time, which effectively caps Watson's time at 30 years.
In an unusual move, North Shore District Attorney Warren Montgomery's office filed a motion Thursday asking Badeaux to reconsider his sentence and impose the harshest that the law allows.
"The severity of the crimes committed by this defendant warrant the maximum sentence allowed by law, not the lenient minimum sentence imposed by this court," the motion from prosecutor Blair Alford says.
"This defendant is the worst type of offender, and he will keep reoffending if he is let back into society," the motion says.
The motion says the maximum sentences for sexual battery and production of child porn are 99 years, and the maximum sentence for possession of child porn involving juveniles under the age of 13 is 40 years.
Prosecutors said Watson was babysitting a 4-year-old girl in February and touched her genitals, removed her clothes and posed the child for sexually-explicit photos.
During the investigation, the motion says Watson admitted to authorities that he had sexual urges for children and downloaded child porn to satisfy those urges. The motion says that St. Tammany sheriff's deputies found 473 images and 10 videos involving children on Watson's electronic devices, including those of an 8-month-old child Watson had posed for sexually explicit photos.
"She will be victimized every single time one of these photos is shared between pedophiles," the motion says of the 8-month-old. "She can't even walk or talk yet, but she is a victim for life because of him."
Watson has previously served time in prison for sexually abusing an 18-month-old girl in Texas, the DA's office has said. The motion says that is proof "he will reoffend when he gets out of jail."

A man facing hundreds of charges of child pornography and indecent assaults of children has pleaded guilty.
William Beck was sentenced this week to 25 to 50 years in state prison. The 50-year-old Bellefonte man entered his plea the day his trial was slated to start.
Beck was charged in June 2016 after two young children claimed he was assaulting and photographing them. Officials have said the victims were 7 and 8 years old.
Beck faced 330 counts overall, including felony counts of aggravated indecent assault of a childchild endangerment and child pornography. He also faced misdemeanor charges, including indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old and copying obscene material.

A man who possessed thousands of pornographic images of his girlfriend’s young daughter has pleaded guilty to sexual interference, making and possessing child porn, and voyeurism.
The 35-year-old man, whose name is subject to a publication ban to protect the girl’s identity, appeared in a Hamilton courtroom to make his plea.
Court documents show that the man started abusing the girl in July 2015, when she was seven years old.
The abuse continued until April 2016, a few days before the girl told her biological father about what was happening. Police were contacted and the man was arrested in short order.
During the period of the abuse, the man was living in Hamilton with his girlfriend and her three children.
According to an agreed statement of facts – outlining aspects of the case which the man agrees are true – the man would wake up the girl up late at night, dress her in “lingerie-type outfits” and sexually assault her.
He also began to advertise the girl’s availability for such assaults online, looking for others interested in taking part.
Several people responded to the ads, including Waterloo resident Rui DaSilva. DaSilva twice visited the man and girl on his own. On his third trip, he brought along Sonya Lucas, a Kitchener woman who was working as an escort.
The judge heard that the man, DaSilva and Lucas abused the girl together and recorded video of their actions.
DaSilva has already been sentenced to an eight-year prison term for his role in abusing the girl, while Lucas is awaiting a sentencing hearing.
As part of their investigation, police seized electronic devices belonging to the man. On those devices, investigators found 4,117 images and videos that meet the definition of child pornography, 3,970 of which involved the young girl.
Another video showed the girl’s 16-year-old sister naked in a bathroom, unaware she was being recorded through a hole in the wall.
When the man was first questioned by police, he denied that he had done anything wrong. He admitted to guilt when his ex-wife visited him in prison, calling himself a monster for what he had dibe,
The man’s sentencing hearing is expected to take place in January. The Crown will be seeking a 10-year prison sentence.

A 17-year-old from Cornwall sexually abused his 18-month-old nephew and sent footage of the sickening abuse to a paedophile in America, a court has heard.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Truro Crown Court as graphic details of the horrific offending were heard in open court.

The defendant, who sat with his head in his hands for most of the proceedings, performed sexual acts on the toddler, who in some footage could be heard referring to him as ‘dada’.

The defendant, who lives in west Cornwall, previously admitted four counts of sexual abuse of a child under 13 and two other counts associated with making images of the sexual abuse.
Prosecutor Heather Hope told Judge Simon Carr how the defendant grew up in a large family and stepped in to offer extra parental support and look after the child, Miss Hope saying he was “relied on and trusted as a babysitter”.
She said: “His interest in the victim became unhealthy and he would become moody and agitated if he was not permitted to look after him.
“The victim became particularly attached to the defendant and on occasions called him 'daddy', which was noticeable, but there were no efforts to correct or to stop him.”
Miss Hope added how his arrest came about when US Homeland Security attended the address of a man in Pennsylvania.
The American man, who is still being detained in relation to other offences, was arrested and an examination of his phone revealed chat messages and indecent images shared with the defendant in Cornwall.
The Cornish predator was then arrested and further examination revealed a host of graphic media, including several obscene sex acts on the victim.
During one of the clips the child is heard to say ‘dada’.
Mitigating, Ramsay Quaife said that a doctor’s report stated the defendant fulfils the criteria for mild mental retardation, meaning he had arrested or incomplete development of the mind and previously recorded an IQ of 59. His IQ is said to have been consistent with mild to moderate learning difficulties.
Mr Quaife said: “He is a young man who suffered neglect and school was simply a no as the playground can be a cruel place. He was sent off to primary school when not even toilet trained.
“He could not cope with mainstream life and life for him is one frightening experience. Yes his motive was sexual gratification but there is also an element of pressure and encouragement to do what he was doing. He was effectively being egged on.
“Another motive was to keep a friendship, he didn’t have other friends and was virtually isolated.”
Mr Quaife made a plea for the teenager to be rehabilitated in the community, saying that he wouldn’t receive the therapy needed in prison and he would emerge even more of a risk to children after his sentence.
The request was rejected by Judge Simon Carr, who said that only an immediate custodial sentence was appropriate.
Judge Carr described the offences as “of gravest concern”.
He said: “You are 17, come from a large family and, as with a lot of large families, there was a lot of movement and when that is the case people get asked to help with childcare arrangements.
“You have a nephew and took care of him. He clearly had a bond with you and you breached that trust in the most terrible way.
There was a series of sexual assaults on the child when he was aged just 17 or 18 months."
The judge went on to describe the sex acts that were filmed and added: "You showed no signs of distress during these recordings.
It’s graphically clear you have a sexual interest in children and in particular young children. The offences came to light as a result of the American authorities. The American offender befriended you on the internet, conversation started and eventually led to a discussion about your interests.
“Slowly he suggested you carried out various acts and provided photos and I have no doubt you were a willing participant. Images were uploaded to the internet and they will never disappear.
“Reports show you suffer with mild to moderate learning disabilities and it is also perfectly clear that although 17 you function at a maturity much lower. You know perfectly well the difference between right and wrong.
“You have faced a number of challenges in your childhood which effectively excluded you from mainstream education and made it very difficult for you to form relationships.”
Judge Carr handed the defendant a four-year custodial sentence of which he must serve two thirds. There will also be an extended licence period of five years, where he will be closely monitored.
Judge Carr then made a request for the defendant to be sent to an institution that offers the treatment he requires.
Indian neurologists have developed an app to address porn addiction that will play Hindu devotional songs, chant “Allahu Akbar” or recite speeches by Nelson Mandela when a user tries to access adult videos.
The app was developed by Vijay Nath Mishra, a professor of neurology at Banaras Hindu University, in response to behaviour problems he was seeing in his patients.
It currently plays Hindu chants and prayers when users try to access adult or violent material, but Mishra said he aimed to widen its appeal as much as possible.
“Within a month it will contain songs and prayers suited to the Muslim community, so that it could be comfortably used by members of all religions,” he said.
Also to be added are inspirational speeches from figures including Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and the Bengali poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
Addiction to pornography cannot be treated but this is a humble attempt at changing one’s behaviour,” Mishra said.
The app has been named Har Har Mahadev, a Hindu chant exhorting Lord Shiva to destroy all evil.
The website Pornhub says Indians make up its third largest user base behind Americans and Britons. According to 2014 data, Indian users who access porn are more likely to be female than the global average.
The Indian government tried to ban 857 porn websites in a sudden move in 2015 but was forced to back down less than a week later after a massive backlash and concerns the censorship may be illegal.
Sunny Leone, a Canadian porn star of Indian origin, leveraged her online popularity in 2012 to make the leap into Bollywood, where she has attained mainstream success despite opposition including a 2015 lawsuit alleging she was “destroying Indian culture”. She retired from the porn industry in 2013.

In Chapter 6 of “The Porn Myth: Exposing the Reality behind the Fantasy of Pornography,” author Matt Fradd writes, “As I wrote in the introduction, the book isn’t a religious offensive against pornography.” Though the book is published by one of the largest Catholic publishers, Ignatius Press, the word “God” does not appear in it.
Fradd goes for the psychology, the sociology, the cultural collapse caused by pornography.

It’s neuroscience.

Pornography stimulates the pleasure centers of the brain increasing dopamine levels, the pleasure chemical. This can cause addiction, desensitization in regular sexual intimacy and disrupt normal marriages.
If we remember to consider that all human beings were made in God’s image — imago Dei — then all dignity we have is derived from Him. This dignity means that we cannot kill, injure, exploit, objectify or do anything else to violate that dignity. Pornography clearly exploits and objectifies people; it’s a multi-billion dollar a year industry.
As long as we understand, as Catholics, that violating another’s dignity in any significant way is also violating God’s will, we can get on with Fradd’s exposé.
The main premise is that the issue of pornography is surrounded by a multitude of myths, a glass house erected by an industry appealing to the worst in human nature and millennia of human rationalization on the subject. Fradd then uses statistics and studies to counter those myths.
The most important of the myths include: “porn is just ‘adult’ entertainment”, “porn empowers women”, “porn is not addictive”, “married life will cure us of all our porn obsessions” and “porn should be used as a sexual aid to enhance intimacy”.
Consider that we all have a nature, including a sexual one. Within God’s plan, according to Scripture and tradition, our sexuality is used to express marital love and to procreate

Our brains are hardwired for this; a balanced natural action with a proper purpose yields a balanced pleasure response

hings outside of this affect brains neuro-chemically and can cause physical changes as well.
These changes can cause changes in thought, in emotions, and in the way we view intimacy and the world.
Pornography is not a victimless problem. Along with viewers, performers can be adversely affected physically and emotionally. Financial stress may cause some to enter this field and producers of pornography don’t seem to be wholly dedicated toward the safety and comfort of their performers. Manna over God.
And while we, as Catholics, consider the moral problems of pornography, those outside the faith or any faith, even secular, atheists will suffer adverse effects.
Neuro-scientists have recorded the effects. Certain fetishes — or deviations from the norm — for example, like bondage, can cause a person to desire to reenact that for sexual pleasure, and that can get someone hurt.
Thus, even while living in these postmodern times in which our feelings are sacrosanct and anything goes, pornography, as a reactive medium, simply causes unwelcome changes in the brain; same as with many illegal drugs.
Dopamine, in our own brains, is as potent as most any illegal drug. It never lasts as long but that is its own additional problem. The neuro-feedback loop with dopamine can cause a quick-building tolerance requiring more and more intensity in the experience as the necessary frequency climbs.
Ultimately, along with the moral problems, pornography strikes directly at the foundation of society: the human individual, and this directly affects family, relationships and society as a whole.

Author addresses challenging truth of dangers of pornography Robert Curtis

How old were you when you first came across porn? A young boy's parents revealed that their son was just nine years old when he first saw the sexual activity take place and quickly took to replicating the violent things he saw.
Appearing on the documentary Addicted to Porn, Joseph Deschambault, now 13 and a recovering addict, reveals he first encountered porn when he was playing a video game.
A pop up X-rated ad led him to a porn site. He accidentally clicked on the ad and later became addicted to porn. He then started mimicking the behaviour he saw on screen, his parents revealed in the Really channel documentary.
After watching the violent sexual act, Joseph couldn't think anything else but the extreme and violent content seen on the monitor. His parents explained that porn triggered an immediate change in their home-schooled son's behaviour.
"My son was too angry all the time to interact with kids and when he did, he often started fights," his mother, Tasha says in the documentary. His parents say Joseph spent hours searching for violent and graphic images of women and 'mimicked' what he saw on screen. It reached to a level where his sisters were terrified of being left alone with him.
"He went from having fun playing with toys with his sister to beating her up, to her being terrified to be in the house with him - begging me not to leave the room if her brother was in the room," she adds.
Tasha revealed that she finally understood what was going on when she stumbled upon her son's internet search history.
Disclosing how he managed to watch so much porn, Joseph explained he watched it every single day, sometime even waking up in the middle of the night to go stream it.
"From the four hours [of] school time that I would have before lunch, I would say I was looking at porn for half of those hours," the recovering addict recalls.
"Just going on it for the little few moments, when my mum would go to help [my sister] Gabby with her school, then I would maybe have a 30-second period to Google what I need and then I can go back to my school work like nothing ever happened. My mum would be sat right next to me and I would have Google up in the corner, and I would be able to view it and I could click right off it and she would never notice," he says.
Before you jump the gun and call the parents irresponsible, Tasha appeared on The Bridgehead radio programme once in the past to discuss her son's addiction and clarified that measures were taken to protect her son from exposure.
"We had done everything we could to try to protect Joe - we had passwords and safety codes and filters," but Joseph was still able to access porn online, she said.

In a first ruling of its kind that could toughen the definition of rape, the Uppsala district court found a 41-year-old man guilty of the online rape or sexual assault of the children, most under the age of 15, in Canada, the United States and Scotland.

Threatening them or their families in some cases, he forced them to carry out sexual acts which they either filmed or live streamed for him, the court said in a statement.

"Such behaviour is the same as if the perpetrator committed the sexual acts on the victims himself," the court ruled.

"In some cases ... the district court found that the violation which the sexual act entailed was so serious that the act is to be considered as rape or child rape."

It was the first time a Swedish court has found someone guilty of rape for forcing a person to commit sexual acts on another person.

"Online abuse has been tried in court before and the outcome has been (a conviction for) sexual assault," judge Carin Westerlund told TT news agency.

"The difference now -- that the man is convicted of rape -- is because the actions are considered much more serious," she added.

The man was found guilty of four counts of aggravated child rape, for cases where the children were forced to commit sex acts on dogs and where one child was forced to commit sex acts on a younger child.

"The younger child in this case has been raped and because the man is the one who pushed and instructed the older child to do it, he has been convicted as the perpetrator," the court said.

In one case, the court found the man guilty of rape for forcing a girl to carry out sex acts on herself.

The man, who was ordered to pay damages to the victims, was also convicted of possessing child pornography as he had saved the films which he received.

He had confessed to a number of the crimes but rejected the rape charges.
